“Fast” Freddie Rodriguez Road Ride! - Ride check-in at 9 am

Come ride with “Fast” Freddie Rodriguez at Biketoberfest 2011! This ride will leave Biketoberfest and head out to Point Reyes, through scenic West Marin. Expect about a 35 mile ride with a few tough climbs and is about 3-4 hours.

Pioneer Ride - Ride check-in at 9 am

The Pioneer Mountain Bike Ride will head out with Marin mountain bike pioneers on a leisurely ride from Biketoberfest to Deer Park and up Shaver Grade. The ride will continue to Lake Lagunitas and then down Eldridge Grade and back on Deer Park to Biketoberfest. This is about an 8-mile ride with modest climbing and is about 2-2.5 hours

The “Trailer” Family Ride w/Single Speed World Champion and Super-D National Champion Rachel Lloyd - Ride check-in at 9 am


What: A “Trailer” Family Ride with Single speed Champ, Rachel Lloyd. Parents, grab your Burley’s and Trail–a-Bikes, grab your kid’s, and come join Rachel and friends for a fun family ride, off road in beautiful Marin!
When: Meet at 9:00am, ride leaves at 9:30, at. Biketoberfest Marin east lot, 765 Center Blvd, Fairfax. Ride will be an out and back or loop, depending upon the group. Pace will be moderate. 1 ½ - 2 hrs. No drop ride, with volunteer leader and “sweep’s”.
Where: Rachel and friends will be leading this ride through the back streets of Fairfax, heading towards San Anselmo, on the bike route. They will ascend up to Phoenix Lake, (stopping to see the ducks, perhaps!). Depending upon the group’s ability and enthusiasm, the ride will come back the same way, or continue up Shaver Grade and down to Deer Park, and back to the festival.
How: This is a ride for adults pedaling mountain bikes with kid’s trailers;, Burley’s, Trail-a-bike or similar. Experience with riding a bike with trailer strongly recommended. Due to the nature of the ride, please no children on individual bikes.

Women's mountain bike skills clinic with
Pro Team LUNA Chix's Catharine Pendrel

Join us as we "Spank the Switchbacks" at Tamarancho with LUNA Pro Catharine Pendrel, currently ranked #1 in the world for women's XC mountain biking. This four-time world cup winner and Olympian will teach women at an intermediate/advanced level to conquer switchbacks, rocks, roots n' ruts at Tamarancho and offer professional tips and advice on how to improve mountain biking skills. We'll then head back to Biketoberfest Marin to grab food, beers, and have some fun!
Where: Meet at the LUNA tent, downtown Fairfax (FairAnselm Plaza 765 Center Blvd near Iron Springs Pub).
When: 8:45am; ready to roll sharply at 9am. End around 1pm.
Cost: $120 (All proceeds will be donated to The Breast Cancer Fund.)

Ladies Ride by LUNA Chix

What: LUNA Chixleads Lake Lagunitas Ladies Ride!
Where: Leave from the LUNA tent at Biketoberfest Marin, 765 Center Blvd (lot by Java Hut). Meet at 2pm, leave at 2:30.
How: a mellow 5 mile ride loop up to lovely Lagunita’s Lake. Travel side streets through Fairfax to Deer Park, up to Lake Lagunitas and around it’s perimeter and back No drop ride.
$10- donation for bicycle advocacy.
